Beauty in the Blossoms

Where I come from, it doesn’t snow in the months leading up to Spring. However I do not mind it in the slightest, not when the ground is filled with blossom petals rather than ice. Nothing is more beautiful than coming home from college to aisles of orchards. When you look up, all you see above you is a canopy of flowers, a reminder that there is beauty in every season of life, including the colder and gloomier ones.

The beautiful bounty of blossoms only makes me anticipate the season of Spring. While it may not be my favorite season, it is a wonderful one all the same, especially for fashion. I love the color black, but Spring is a time for me to break out of my comfort zone and turn to more cheerful colors such as pastels and whites. I also begin to put away the dark lipstick and turn to pinks. This outfit is a prime example of the types of outfits I will be frequently seen in this season. I am all for delicate blouses, like the one I am wearing here that has a gorgeous black bird pattern on it. While the blouse is a statement piece on its own, I love mixing statement pieces with statement pieces. These light wash overalls pair really well with the blouse and look great cuffed on the bottom. Pair them with some light brown oxfords and a lightweight trench coat to stay warm and stylish.

I am incredibly excited to play around with my wardrobe this spring! If you live in California, don’t forget to stop and look at the blossoms while they’re still here!
